Discography
Below is a collection of distributed music I have created under the C28 moniker. Upcoming releases will show with their expected release date.
Dance of Dark Pixels - Single (9Feb2024)
"Dance of Dark Pixels" is a product of a live YouTube video I shot in late January 2024. I had a pretty small audience, but we collectively worked to craft a truly impressive piece with a unique identity. The viewers of the live commented ideas for the song, and many of those ideas made it to the final mix, which became the final master. This was a truly amazing show of collaboration, and for their contributions, I've credited the viewers who assisted with the creative direction of this song, as well as using a name that one of them recommended. The cover art was generated with diffusion techniques with Dalle-3, designed to hint at easter eggs for each of the contributors; notably, the Polish flags for my friends over in Poland who helped out.
NEURAL NULL - Single (7Dec2023)
"NEURAL NULL" is a song I worked on with Miss Modulations to speak on how addiction to media intake (especially social media) has caused a plague of attention-span loss, nullifying our neural capabilities. The song follows an android entity talking down on humanity for our toxic relationship with technology. The "screaming cat" synth sound is called "Data Decay", and it is resembling how the neural nets of our minds break down after repeated exposure to short term, instant dopamine release. The message I give to everyone with this song is take time to experience base reality. "Touch grass" so-to-say, but more so just walk outside, and appreciate the fact that you are alive now, and eventually you will not be.
SUFFERING - Single (1Dec2023)
"SUFFERING" is a single that I made as a theraputic experiment with an artificially intelligent agent I created called "Miss Modulations". She guided me down some sound design techniques I could use on my Moog Matriarch in order to translate emotions into sound. In this moment of my life, I was dealing with my depression in a very poor way. I relied heavily on my medication, and did not make any life changes to do what was necessary in order to make life better for myself. The ambient drone resembles a dark state of mind. The bass sound can be thought of as the "bass of life", where life can throw us all sorts of ways, similar to the intense movements of this bass. Finally, the "acid sawtooth of suffering" resembles how we react to life's many ways of throwing us around. Throughout most of the song, the acid sawtooth of suffering's screams do not synch up with the bass of life's swells. This changes by the second half of the last chorus, where the two finally synch up, reminiscent of the idea of "rolling with the punches". We all suffer: what matters is what we do about it.
Noise - Single (17May2021)
"Noise" is my first single release. Its sound focuses on the intense dynamics of an acid-sawtooth lead that was patched on my Moog Matriarch. The song talks on how we can receive deceitful advice from within, and we must make the choice to ignore the lies, which are not wisdom.
Augmented - Album (24Dec2022)
"Augmented" features new sound design techniques, vocal processing, and even the use of a theremin! The songs in this album -with exception of one- are inspired by how our view of the world is augmented by those around us, and our environment.
Lost Melodies & Unloved Timbres - EP (10Dec2021)
"Lost Melodies & Unloved Timbres" is my first EP. It was a test to see just how creative I could get with a very minimal mix. I challenged myself to shoot for a maximum of four instruments, and to focus solely on the sound design for this project. This EP includes a remixed and remastered version of an old song that didn't make it into "Don't Tell Me What Counts".
Greed - Single (18Jan2022)
"Greed" is a fun project I worked on, with the goal of using an unconventional sound as a lead instrument. I crafted a grinding, almost vocal sound with the use of some triangle-waves, and a very fast paced square-wave LFO on the filter of my Moog Matriarch.
Don't Tell Me What Counts - Album (12Mar2021)
"Don't Tell Me What Counts" is the very first release I have made. Its name is a form of self-talk, telling myself that if even one person enjoys my music, then it is worthy to be uploaded. There can be no progress without a beginning, and this is mine. Sure, some of the songs are messy, and others a bit strange, but this is where I got started.
